Dressage Horse Damon Hill NRW by AtelierArends is an awe-inspiring pastel portrait of a majestic animal. The artist has polished every tiny detail on the picture to perfection: all the way from the shiny fur, wrinkled skin and refined muscles to beautifully decorated bridle and lively expression on the horse's eye. I was wondering how you manage to get such a well lit and clear photo of the original? Also, what camera do you use (unless it's scanned)?

This is unbelievable! So elegant and livelike! Have you used any fixatives in between your steps and which kind of pencils and paper have you used!

Thanks. I have used all brands of pastel pencils I could found. The paper is normal thick paper... but it is very smoth. I only have fixed the background. So I was able to paint the horse over it.

Thank you for the long answer :) As I said your drawings are really amazing and I know pastel is not easy... But good to know that its not neccssary to fix any layer of color! I wish you good luck for your work!
